| Brooch & Pendant My personal interpretation of the vintage brooches created in the 1930s through 1950s is shown in this Brooch/Pendant combination created on a gold-plated decorative base, over which an antique finish has been applied to give it an older look. Brooches and pendants are available on gold-plated or rhodium-plated bases (the beauty of rhodium being that it does not tarnish), in numerous sizes, shapes, and styles. This sturdy brooch measures 2.25" tall and 1.75" across, and has a bail attached at the back, through which the wearer can thread a chain of her choice to provide the option of alternating between wearing it as a brooch or as a pendant. The three-dimensional bouquet of Pansies within the gallery of this brooch was created with vintage dyed Baby Cup shells, surrounded by dyed green Gar Scale foliage with dyed Rice shell flower buds peeking through the bouquet, all contained within a Calico Scallop shell vase. A beautiful little floral bouquet that will continue to bloom all year long! |
