List of supplies:
Mirror square approximately 9"x 9" (Hobby stores have these for candles)
1/4" thick plywood cut into square 11-1/8" x 11-1/8"
Two triangle hooks for hanging
Black craft paint
Tacky Glue
Shells( I used 20 Black and White Scallops, 42 Money Cowrie, 20 Star Limpets, 32 Bumblebees)
I also used about 42 Black Beans that I sprayed with a clear acrylic to add shine and help keep the beans hard and
smooth. Many kinds of seeds have been used in Shell Crafts over the years.
Instructions:
Paint the board on both sides. Let dry then add the hooks to the back. Glue the mirror in place in the center of the
front of the board. Let dry. Glue the scallops in place. Next glue the outer row of Bumblebees. Let dry. Glue the
cowries to the edge of the mirror. Let dry completely. Glue the Bumblebees and the last 8 Cowries inside the Limpets
making sure to have all of the shells facing the same direction. You will see in the photo that I selected 8 larger
Limpets for the corners. Notice that the shells have a narrow end and a rounded end. Keep them consistent. While
the limpets are drying, glue the Black Beans in place next to the edge of the mirror in between the Cowries. See
photo. The last to glue in place are the Limpets. Good Luck and have fun!
